Freda I. Grove, 87, of Osceola Mills died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
She was the daughter of the late Monroe and Eva (Sellinger) Case born Jan. 11, 1926 in Salladasburg.
Ms. Grove was of the Christian Faith.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing cards and going on camping and fishing trips with her children and grandchildren.
She was a nurse at the Hollidaysburg State Hospital, the Ebensburg State School and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Laurelton Center until her retirement. She was also a graduate of the Jersey Shore High School.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Grove was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and Dennis Gower; a grandson, Brady Gower; a granddaughter, Rosella Gower; and a brother, Bertil Case.
She is survived by two daughters, Beatrice Stickles and her husband, Wayne of Renovo and Donna R. Bell of Osceola Mills; a son, Darrell Gower and his wife, Cindy of Prospect, OR; and a sister, Annabell Allen of Sweet Valley. She’s also survived by 12 grandchildren, two of whom she raised as children, Michael L. and Dennis L. Gower; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Salladasburg.
There will be no public visitation.
