Raymond J. Ross, 90, formerly of DuBois, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 2, 1923 in Cherry Tree, he was the son of the late Charles O. and Thelma E. (Shankle) Ross.
On June 7, 1944, he married Dorothy E. Dusch. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2001.
He retired from the retail hardware business in Curwensville and Falls Creek.
He was a member of the DuBois Christian Missionary & Alliance Church. He was a DuBois Regional Medical Center Home Health and Hospice Volunteer for 12 years and a member of the Council of Human Dignity at St. Michael Terrace for many years.
Mr. Ross is survived by his children, Shirl A. Davis-Susser and her husband, Howard of Poughkeepsie, NY, Peggy L. Coppolo and her husband, Bob of Weedville and George W. Ross and his wife, Linda of Clearfield; a brother, Arnold B. Ross of Buffalo, NY; a sister, Betty M. McCullough of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William B. Ross.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jon Ditter officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
