In Sandy Twp., Resident Complains about Noises from EOG

DUBOIS – At Monday night’s meeting, resident Jacqueline Bennett complained to the Sandy Township Supervisors about EOG using its shaker equipment on its property, which is also near her home, at 6 a.m. One day, according to Bennett, the equipment was used until 8 p.m.

Township Manager Dick Castonguay explained that EOG had been vibrating the side of rail cars to get the sand out. He said the township could discuss the matter with EOG, as far as what time it uses the equipment. Castonguay said ultimately it’s being used on EOG property and within an industrial zone and train yard area.

“Our manager and zoning officer will pay them a visit, but we had a similar issue on Platt Road,” said Council member Brady LaBorde.
