Obituary Notice: Norma Jean Teats

Norma Jean Teats, 69, of Grassflat died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Shady Side Hospital. Born April 4, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Soder Jackson.

Mrs. Teats was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was married to Melford G. Teats on Nov. 16, 1961 in Karthaus. He survives in Grassflat.

Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Kritzer and her companion, Randy Martin of Morrisdale and Wilma Teats of Grassflat and five sons, Melvin Teats and Michael Teats and his companion, Bernice James, all of Clearfield, Mark Teats and Matthew Teats, both of Grassflat and Milton Teats of Morrisdale.

Also surviving are one sister, Margaret Martin and her husband, Carl of Morrisdale, Marvin Jackson of Grassflat, a very special daughter who she loved, Thurza James of Grassflat, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Martin Teats, brothers, Arthur, Walter and Russell Jackson, sisters, Vivian Rodgers and Glady Maines and one infant sister, Gertrude Jackson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Lanse, with the Rev. Matthew Finney officiating. Burial will be in the Grassflat-Lanse Lutheran Cemetery, Grassflat.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Johnson Funeral Home.
