Judith K. Smart, 70, of Penfield died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her home. Born Feb. 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Aures) DeSalve.
On Sept. 29, 1961, she married Gerald A. Smart Sr. He survives.
She retired from the DuBois Area School District as a library aide from the Penfield Elementary School. Prior to that, she worked for the Prudential Insurance Co. in DuBois.
She was a member of the Penfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching and taking pictures of wildlife in her backyard. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family. She was also an avid reader. She loved her cat, Zoey.
Along with her husband, she is survived by three children, Lisa A. Marchiori and her husband, Karl and Gerald A. Smart Jr. and his wife, Jackie, all of Penfield and Jennifer K. Agosti and her husband, Randy of Weedville; a sister, Joyce Klaiber and her husband, Francis of Penfield; a brother, Terry DeSalve of DuBois; and five grandchildren, Justin and Morgan Marchiori, Alyssa Smart and Darryn and Devyn Agosti.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William “Buddy” DeSalve.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Hall officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
