Geraldine E. Walburn, 78, of Greenville Grampian RD, died at her residence Sunday, May 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 1, 1934 in Grampian, she was the daughter of Clarence and Carrie Helen (Friedline) Mahlon.

She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Greenville Church of the Brethren.

She was a former president of the Luthersburg PTA and a member of Bilger’s Rocks Association. She was active with Camp Host at Pymatuning State Park and in the Brethren Disaster Projects.

On June 12, 1953, she wed William “Bill” Walburn, who survives along with nine children, Sharon Vaux and her husband, Butch and Dennis Walburn and his wife, Teri and Chris Walburn and his wife, Deb, all of Luthersburg, Marsha Stetser of New Jersey, Randy Walburn and his wife, Diana of Sykesville, Larry Walburn and his wife, Karen of Avon, IN, Brenda Ferguson of Grampian, Gail Maag and her husband, Larry of Horsham and Jeff Walburn and his wife, Kim of Brookville.

Also surviving are 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Mahlon and his wife, Wilma of Grampian and Harold Mahlon Sr. of Rockton; and special family friends, Dr. Earl Morgan and his wife, Susan of Brockport.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son—in-law, Dan Stetser; and an infant sister, Bonnie Jean Mahlon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Greenville Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dale Rummel officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Greenville Church of the Brethren.
