Obituary Notice: Leo John Klebacha

Leo John Klebacha, 92, of DuBois died Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home.

Born March 7, 1921 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Mroczka) Klebacha.

A veteran of World War II, he was a corporal in the U.S. Army, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was married to Wanda (Clinchoc) Klebacha.  She preceded him in death in 1989.

Mr. Klebacha retired as a heavy equipment operator for Krach-Gearhart Coal Company after more than 30 years of service.

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 540 in Reynoldsville.  He was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed watching stock car races at the Hummingbird Speedway.  He especially loved to tinker in “Lee’s Odd Job Shop.”

Mr. Klebacha is survived by two sons, Leo J. Klebacha and his wife, Patty of DuBois and Gary L. Klebacha of Rathmel; two grandchildren, Matthew Klebacha and Jessica Hazuda; and one great-grandson, Cameron Klebacha.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

The DuBois Area Honor Guard will conduct a military ritual 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
