Storm Statistics:
- The storm moved through the area late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening.
- Penelec-wide, about 27,000 customers were affected.
- As of 8 a.m. Thursday, about 1,450 Penelec customers are still without power.
- Locally, the Clearfield Operations area had a little more than 10,000 customers affected by the outages.
- The hardest hit areas included northern Cambria County, southern and eastern Clearfield County and southern Jefferson County.
- As of 8 a.m. Thursday, about 700 customers remain without power. There are more than 30 specific trouble locations to be addressed.
- Penelec crews spent Wednesday evening assessing the damage, isolating the trouble areas and sectionalizing the lines to restore power to 9,300 of the affected customers.
- There are 10 broken poles that have been identified. Temporary repairs have been made at several locations. Permanent repairs will be made over the next several days.
- Twenty additional crews from other Penelec areas will be arriving Thursday to assist with repairs.
- Pending any additional damage, Penelec hopes to have the majority of the remaining customers restored by midnight Thursday.
