- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Wednesday on Water Street in Philipsburg Borough. The victim observed a couple tampering with an old John Deere riding lawn mower and contacted state police. The couple was charged with criminal mischief.
- On Wednesday, a domestic dispute over infidelity issues occurred on State Street in Rush Township. During the dispute, the woman allegedly took an iPad belonging to the man, threw it against the wall and then stomped on it. He allegedly pushed and shoved the woman to keep her from damaging the iPad. The woman is to be cited for criminal mischief; the man is to be cited for harassment.
- On May 18, the Philipsburg-based state police were notified that a 34-year-old Julian man had failed to comply with the new Sex Offender Registration Act. The new act dictated that all registered offenders report to an authorized registration site to comply with requirements by March 20. The investigation is continuing at this time.
- On May 19, a 15-year-old Philipsburg juvenile allegedly tackled an 11-year-old Philipsburg juvenile from off of his bicycle on Walnut Street in Rush Township. No injuries were reported.
- On May 19, a couple engaged in an argument at a Curtain Street residence in Rush Township. During the argument, a 49-year-old Osceola Mills man allegedly grabbed the victim by the neck and shoved her to the ground. Charges of harassment have been filed through the district court.
- On Monday, a tool box and two CD cases were found on Fourth Street in Philipsburg Borough. Please contact the Philipsburg-based state police at 814-342-3370 to identify and claim the items.
- An incident of harassment occurred Tuesday on Powder Magazine Road in Rush Township. During a domestic dispute, a 24-year-old Philipsburg man allegedly put his hands on his wife’s neck and punched her in the shoulder. The man will be cited through the district court.
- An incident of harassment and public drunkenness occurred Wednesday on West Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough. A 48-year-old Philipsburg man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and yelling on the sidewalk. A 38-year-old Philipsburg man attempted to tell him to stop yelling and to leave the area. However, the first man allegedly refused to leave at which point the second man punched him in the face with a closed fist. The first man then allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with a 24-year-old Philipsburg man and threw him to the ground. The first man will be cited for harassment and public drunkenness and the second with harassment.
- Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Tuesday on U.S. Route 322 in Worth Township. Dion Barnard, 18, of Port Matilda was traveling northbound on Reese Hollow Road and stopped at its intersection with U.S. Route 322. Barnard was attempting to cross over to continue north on Flat Rock Road when he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Lyle Wisor, 70, of West Decatur. The Wisor vehicle subsequently struck that driven by Barnard, and both traveled off the north berm. Afterward the Wisor vehicle struck a stop sign and traveled back into the left lane of travel. Both Wisor and his passenger, Norma Wisor, 70, of West Decatur were transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Barnard also sustained minor injuries but wasn’t transported for medical attention. Barnard’s passenger, Caleb Daye, 18, wasn’t injured. All four were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
