Janocko to be Inducted into PA Scholastic Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame

Harrisburg — Clearfield Bison Football Coach, Tim Janocko, will be inducted into the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Saturday, June 15 at a ceremony in Harrisburg.

Janocko, a graduate of Moshannon Valley High School, received his M.Ed in secondary counseling and his principal’s certification from Penn State University.  In 1981, he became an assistant football coach and teacher with the Clearfield Area School District.  In 1985, he was appointed head football coach where he has compiled a record of 216-97-3. 

During his tenure, he has 10 District IX titles, 10 District IX league championships, five Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, twenty playoff appearances, three Western Quarterfinal appearances and five undefeated seasons.   The 1994 team set three state passing records.  The 2010 team won 13 games, which stands as the most in school history.  He is the winningest coach in District IX history and was also responsible for the Bison’s 500th win. 

Janocko was inducted into the Central PA Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2010, where he has served as president three times.  He served as PSFCA president in 2003.  He was a Big 33 assistant coach in 2001 and Big 33 head coach in 2009. 

In 2005, he was the West head coach of the East/West game and also a four-time head coach of the Lezzer Lumber All-Star Football Classic.  He was named District IX Coach of the year five times and a seven-time Progressland Coach of the year.

Janocko  and his wife, Trina, reside in Clearfield and have two children; Andrew, an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Annie, a recent graduate of Slippery Rock University.  He is currently the prinical of the Clearfield Area High School where he begins his 29th year as Bison Football head coach.
