CLEARFIELD – An Allport man accused of growing marijuana pleaded guilty Tuesday in Clearfield County Court.
Christopher Edward Patrick, 29, 111 Turtle Dr., Allport pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to one to two years in state prison. He was fined $3 plus costs.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Oct. 11, police asked Patrick for his consent to search a residence in Morris Township. He consented and advised the officers he had 12 marijuana plants growing on the property as well as some processed marijuana. During the search, officers found 20 pounds of processed marijuana, the 12 live marijuana plants, various smoking devices and numerous rifles and pistols.
The search warrant was obtained after a controlled purchase of marijuana from Peters in November of 2011.
After a trial in February, Patrick was found guilty of delivery of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in that case. He was sentenced to 90 days to one year in jail and two years consecutive probation in April.
According to the affidavit in that case, an undercover officer was with the informant when they met with Patrick in the Summit Grange Hall parking lot. Patrick arrived in a van and parked behind them. The informant opened the car door and talked to Patrick, who reached onto his dash and said “I’ve got your stuff right here.” He then handed the informant a plastic baggie with marijuana in it. The informant paid $60 for the marijuana. The officer commented that it looked like good stuff and Patrick said it was. He also told them he had a guy who was going to get a shipment of medical marijuana later that month.
