Lois K. Bunnell, 98, a resident of Colonial Courtyard in Clearfield, died Saturday, May 18, 2013.
Born Nov. 25, 1914 in Carrolltown, she was the daughter of John and Minnie (Schlatter) Kelly.
She was employed as an elementary teacher for the CentralCambriaSchool District. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was also a member of GFWC Women’s Club in Curwensville. She was also a volunteer for the Bloodmobile.
She is survived by a son, John Bunnell and his wife, Nancy of Walltown; her grandchildren Bree, Laura and Brady; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Colleen Scelesky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frances X. “Bill” Connell; her second husband, James R. Bunnell; a sister, Mina Prindible; and three brothers, Edward, Gerard and Harold Kelly. She was the last member of her generation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will be held in HillcrestMemorialGardens, Vero BeachFlorida.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 9 a.m. until the procession departs for the church at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday. The rosary will be recited on at 6 p.m. Tuesday with the Scripture Vigil Service at 8 p.m., both at the funeral home.
