CLEARFIELD – CNB Bank has broken ground on their new concept banking center in downtown Clearfield and is officially beginning the construction of the new offices that will be located on the corner of South Second and Cherry streets.

Plans were revealed in November of 2012 that the bank’s main office, located at 1 S. Second St., would be remodeled following an expansion onto the adjoining property.  The expansion will feature a new banking center including a café style lobby and drive-up location.

“The design was inspired by the community of Clearfield,” said Joseph B. Bower Jr., CNB Bank president and chief executive officer.

“We felt it was important to keep the exterior façade of the new building true to the existing historic downtown architecture and will also feature images of the community throughout the interior.”

Unlike traditional bank branches, the new office will not only feature the community, but also introduce enhanced technologies to improve customer service, maximize space and increase efficiency and security.  The new building is projected to be completed and open in early 2014 and will include a new ATM, Internet kiosk, coffee station, open teller areas, digital signage, cash recyclers and a coin counter.

“As CNB Bank approaches $2 billion in assets, there is a need for the operations center to grow.  This expansion will enable the bank to increase its workforce up to 50 percent in downtown Clearfield,” said Bower. “It was also important for us to utilize our local contractors.  I’m happy to say that nearly a dozen local contractors will bring their expertise to the project.”

Representatives from CNB Bank, contractors, and community members came together Thursday to celebrate the groundbreaking.
