Buddy Allen Bair of Clearfield has been charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. His bail has been set at $5,000 unsecured.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, at 9:05 p.m. April 29, the woman arrived at the police station with her 5-year-old daughter. She told police she lived with her ex-husband, Bair. She had left the residence around 12 p.m. that day and the children were in Bair’s custody and care.
Upon returning to the residence, the woman’s 5-year-old daughter informed her that Bair had threatened to kill them. She confirmed these alleged statements by asking two other individuals who were present at the time.
The woman told police that she had packed up some belongings and the children before filing the report. She told police they would be staying with a family member for the evening.
Police responded to the residence and interviewed the individuals who heard Bair make the alleged statements.
One said that she was in another room when she heard Bair state, “I’m going to (expletive) kill you and your mother.” She then heard the 5-year-old start to cry and say that her finger hurt.
Another individual said he was in a bedroom when he heard Bair yelling at the 5-year-old. He said the defendant yelled, “I’m going to kill you,” before the 5-year-old started to cry.
When police spoke to Bair, he said the word kill was used when he was talking about killing himself.
Bair was transported to the station and agreed to speak with police. Bair admitted to making the statement but said he didn’t mean to act on it. Further he admitted that he needed anger management and knew his statement was wrong.
