DuBois City Awards Two Bids for Rumbarger Avenue Projects

DUBOIS – The DuBois City Council awarded bids for two of the three Rumbarger Avenue projects at Monday night’s meeting.

There were only three bidders total with a bid being placed by each for the three lots.  The first and third lots were awarded in the amount of $31,101 each. Both were awarded to Dennis Day.

Dennis Day and John and Mary Kelsey both submitted a bid of $31,101 for the second lot, which led to a tie.  Both will be given one week to submit a new bid with the minimum amount being $31,101.

All the bids for the Goodwill Truck Room work were rejected for being collectively too high. The reallocation of the CDBG funds for that project will be discussed at a public hearing before the May 28 meeting. The hearing has been set for 6:45 p.m., along with the 2013 CDBG funds public hearing.  The May 27 meeting was voted to be rescheduled for May 28, as the original date falls on Memorial Day.

Co-chairperson of the DuBois Community Days Jeff Baronick discussed some of the attractions for Community Days.  This year there will be a circus over the course of two days.  There will also be free shows on the preceding Wednesday and Thursday.
