Lane Closures Planned as Kylertown I-80 Bridges Get New Deck Surfaces

CLEARFIELD – PennDOT will put lane restrictions in place, as crews come into the Kylertown area to finish bridge deck work. Crews will be working Tuesday and Wednesday to place an epoxy surface on the decks of the bridges that span Route 53 and Route 2037 (Winburne Road/Main Street).

Installation of the new surfaces is the final step in this three-year project. The westbound bridges were replaced in 2011, with eastbound bridges replaced in 2012.

Eastbound lane restrictions will run from mile-marker 132 to mile-marker 133. Westbound lane restrictions will run from mile-marker 134 to mile-marker 133. Drivers should be alert for lane changes and restrictions and should be prepared for slowed or stopped traffic. Work is expected to take place during daylight hours, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Updated information on the lane closures is available on message boards and through the Highway Advisory Radio System at 1640 on the am dial.

All work is weather and schedule dependent. Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. is the contractor on this $10 million project.
