A Zumbathon® Charity Event was recently held in Curwensville at the Fairman Center to benefit Autism Speaks®.

Local Zumba® Fitness Instructors Stephanie Errigo and Jess Ross coordinated the event with the help of Heather Peterman.  Seven other local Zumba® instructors Daniel Minns, Deb Jern, Brandi Benden, Lacy Nicklas, Lauren Haag, Megan Patrick, and Judy Wachob also assisted in making the event possible by sharing talents with a crowd of more than 65 people.

A total of $1,714 was raised for Autism Speaks® in an effort to raise awareness for Autism Awareness Month for the disorder that touches many people’s lives.  Through the generous donations of Pat Errigo Auctioneer and Family, Zumba Fitness with Jess Ross, Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, McDonald Lawn and Landscape, Curwensville VFW, South Side Subs and Groceries, and Moyer’s Auto Body, T-shirts were made to commemorate the event.

Ron and Betty Lockett donated the Fairman Center.  A Chinese auction was also held with many donations from local businesses, such as Bee Kind Winery, Tie the Knot, Curwensville Florist, Adam’s Golden Grill, The Strawberry Tree, Goodman’s Foodliner, Champion’s Choice, The Italian Oven, Bouquets by Jill, Lia Sophia Representative Haley Strong, Johnson Motors, Northwest Savings Bank, McDonalds, Clearfield Bank and Trust Company, Casteel Chiropractic, The Blue Kow and Tan Zone.

Ashlee Reid Photography donated her time for photography of the event and DJ MATTBLACK donated his time to provide the music.

Errigo and Ross would like to thank everyone who supported the cause and all of the businesses that donated to make the event possible.
