Obituary Notice: James G. Moorhouse

James G. Moorhouse, 77 of Treasure Lake, DuBois, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Nelson’s Golden Years. Born May 21, 1935, he was the son of the late James E. and Carrie M. (Gunsallus) Moorhouse.

On July 8, 1961, he married Irene H. (Kentoski) Moorhouse.  She preceded him in death June 1, 1999.

He was a veteran the U.S. Army and served as a military policeman.

He was the founder and owner of Valley Machine and Tool Company in Penfield. Prior to that, he worked at Stackpole Carbon Company in St. Mary’s for 24 years.

He was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid sportsman.

He is survived by a son, David J. Moorhouse and his wife, Cheryl of DuBois and three grandsons, Stephen, Matthew and James Moorhouse.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph S. Moorhouse and a sister, Arlene Kuniski.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.

A ritual service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Dan Kresinski as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
