HARRISBURG – State Rep. Tommy Sankey (R-Clearfield) is inviting residents of the 74th Legislative District to his May 28, town hall meeting. The event, which he is co-hosting with state Sen. Don White (R-41), will take place from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., at the Mahaffey Fire Hall, 958 Market St., Mahaffey.
“This is a great opportunity for you to have your legislative questions answered and get opinions on the key issues from representatives of both chambers of the General Assembly,” Sankey said. “I enjoy working with Senator White and am looking forward to getting our neighbors together for an evening of good conversation.”
Sankey recently reached out to constituents in a slightly different format on April 24 when he hosted a telephone town hall meeting he feels was very successful.
“I know this format is new to many people in the 74th District, and it caught them by surprise, judging by the number of voicemail messages that greeted my district office staff the following morning,” Sankey commented. “We managed to touch base with nearly 4,000 in the hour-long discussion, and many of them took part by asking a question. I’m glad so many people chose to be involved in the legislative process, and am hoping to do this again after the 2013-14 budget is completed.”
