CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Terry W. Struble as its new superintendent at Monday night’s regular meeting.

The district has not yet finalized a salary for Struble, according to board President Mary Anne Jackson. Struble will come to Clearfield from the Mount Pleasant Area School District and take over the reins July 1.

Struble has spent 13 years with the Mount Pleasant Area School District. He has served as the superintendent there for the past five years. Struble holds a Bachelor’s degree from Grove City College, a Master’s degree in school administration from Westminster College and his Superintendent’s Letters from Gannon University.

“I’m excited for this opportunity and want to help this district to continue to grow,” he said. Struble, his wife and three daughters will be relocating to Clearfield this summer.

In February, the district announced that current Superintendent Dr. Thomas B. Otto had accepted a superintendent position with the Altoona Area School District.

CASD Accepts Glass’ Resignation

The board also accepted the resignation of board member Dave Glass “with regret and gratitude” on Monday night. He tendered his resignation last week due to pressing family health issues. Glass’ resignation was effective Monday.

The board approved for Jackson to serve as its president through the end of Glass’ term. Board member Larry Putt was approved as the vice president.
