John J. Petrillo, 79 of DuBois died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his residence. Born March 18, 1934 in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Michael and Lucy (Malone) Petrillo.
He married Marlene M. (Stottish) Petrillo on June 1, 1974. She survives.
He retired from the DuBois City Street & Sewer Department after many years of service.
He was a well-known musician and played in several local bands. He played steel, bass and rhythm guitars.
He was a member of the Falls Creek Eagles and the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also enjoyed cooking.
He is survived by five children, Vickie Patrick and Richard Petrillo and his wife, Rose, both of DuBois, Jimmy Petrillo of Luthersburg, Debbie Sanchez of Penfield and Johnny Petrillo and his wife, Frannie of Reynoldsville, three sisters, Mary Helen Bylina of Summerville, NJ, Elaine Weber of New Kensington and Alberta Jean Schutz of DuBois, two brothers, Robert Petrillo of Brookville and Jerry Lee Petrillo and his wife, Peggy of New York, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geneve Norris and two brothers, George and Michael Petrillo.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Kenneth Sherwood officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
