CLEARFIELD – Several community volunteers have spent the past month preparing to open the new Market Street Studio & Gallery, which is located next to the Ritz Theater.
The studio offers regular art classes for all ages and skill levels, from Fundamentals of Drawing to Studies of the Masters. There are classes to fit everyone’s interest level and schedule.
A working studio is featured at the front of the gallery, spotlighting the processes of creating quality artwork. Lead instructor and resident artist Christion Iraca is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, specializing in drawing, painting and printmaking.
The gallery displays fine art from many local and regional artists, as well as oil paintings, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, photography, mixed media and even bronze, clay and hand-carved wooden sculptures.
All the artwork is original and one of a kind, perfect for the collector, investor or individual looking for that totally unique piece for their home or business. All items in the gallery can be purchased. Gallery Manager Steve Albert is also a resident artist having an extensive background in graphic design and sign-making. Together, Christion and Steve hope to bring a new and exciting venue for artists and creative culture to the Clearfield area.
Albert said, “Clearfield County is home to many talented artists. We want to give them a permanent place to share that talent and become a center for visual arts and art education. Art is an integral part of every society and Market Street Studio & Gallery hopes to bring another level of arts culture to the area in order to help revitalize downtown Clearfield.”
Current business hours may vary but regular hours are: Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday hours are as needed.
