Two Arrested for Taking Child during Burglary, Assaulting State Trooper

FOX TOWNSHIP – A man and woman, both of Kersey, were arrested Monday after taking a small child from a residence, fleeing law enforcement and then assaulting one state trooper at the time of their apprehension.

Both accused went into an Old Kersey Road residence without permission, and once inside they allegedly pulled three telephones from the wall. Then, they took an 11-month-old child and fled in their vehicle to St. Marys.

During the search for both accused, they fled a residence. A foot pursuit ensued after which they were apprehended. Both accused allegedly assaulted a state trooper at the time of their arrest.

The Ridgway-based state police were assisted by the St. Marys City Police Department and the Kane-based state police.
