Eleanor R. Martin, 95, a guest of Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg and formerly of Houtzdale died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Born Feb. 26, 1918, she was the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Rodkey) Bloom. On June 20, 1936, she married John L. Martin, who preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 2009.
Mrs. Martin was a homemaker.
She’s survived by a son-in-law, David Johnson of North Tonawanda, NY; six grandchildren, Richard S. Paulson, Kerry L. Paulson, Lori J. McIntire, Denise K. Johnson, Karen Schmidt and Jody Johnson; 17 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Nick Grossman.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two daughters, Doris M. Paulson and Norma K. Johnson; a great-granddaughter; a son-in-law, Carl Paulson; three sisters, Vera, Tessa and Liddy; and two brothers, Richie and Thomas.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.
Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Brisbin.
