H. Lee Whitehill Jr., 80, of Pensacola, FL and formerly of Clearfield died Friday, April 19, 2013. He was born June 26, 1932 in Clearfield, a son of the late Harvey Sr. and Elizabeth (Turner) Whitehill.
Mr. Whitehill was a truck driver with the Teamsters Union for 30 years. Later, he was employed by the U.S. Navy for seven-and-a-half years. He was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #2108 of Pensacola, FL.
He is survived by two children, Janet Brocious and her husband, Larry of Clearfield and Harvey Lee Whitehill III of Sanoma, CA; two step-children, L. Suzann Hubler Van-Duzer and her husband, Timothy of Hudson, OH and Bryan K. Hubler and his wife, Tina of Mobile, AL; two grandchildren, Sasha Ryan and her husband, Kevin and Justin Brocious; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Smeal) Whitehill on Feb. 11, 2005 and whom he wed Jan. 1, 1972 in Sparta, NC. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Betty and Barbara A. Whitehill and Mary Kay Boob.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Bigler Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front St., Clearfield.
