George Warholak, 84, of Clearfield died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center – Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born July 1, 1928 in Madera, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Belis) Warholak.
Mr. Warholak was employed at Piper Aircraft for 13 years and also was a member of Local Union 910, working in the construction business. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by three children, Ann Marie Warholak and Patricia Warholak, both of Clearfield and Debra Kollar and her husband, John of Rossiter; four grandchildren, Jodalynn, Jesta, Christina and James; and a great-granddaughter, Serenity.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. (Krupar) Warholak on Nov. 4, 1988 and whom he wed Aug. 29, 1969 in Ramey; two sons, Thomas and George Warholak; four sisters, Catherine Werner, Anna Warholak, Suzanne Warholak and Evelyn Urban: and three brothers, Michael, Peter and John Warholak.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Father Brandon Kleckner as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Ukranian Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Post Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
A Christian Vigil service will be held at 4:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or St. Francis Educational Endowment Fund, 212 S. Front St., Clearfield.
