Obituary Notice: Rosemary P. Kweder McCloskey

Rosemary P. Kweder McCloskey, 88, of Erie and formerly of DuBois died Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Erie. Born March 25, 1925 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kiimos) Kweder.

She attended the St. Joseph’s Church School and belonged to the parish until she moved to Erie in 1957.  Since then she had been a member of the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.

She attended the DuBois Business College and retired in 1986 after 42 wonderful years working for a number of railroads, including B&O, Pennsylvania, Penn Central and Conrail in DuBois, Punxsutawney, Pittsburgh, Erie and Cleveland.  She was a member of the TLC Clerks.

Post-retirement, she had more free time to enjoy family visits to California and Virginia, nurture a poetic hobby, develop her skills as a piano player, revel in the productions at the Erie Playhouse and generously write letters to many of those with whom she became acquainted.

She is survived by three children, Francis S. McCloskey (Diane) of Highland Heights, OH, Mark H. McCloskey of Erie, and Christine Eacho (Louis) of Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, Stephen M. McCloskey of Euclid, OH, Cara L. McCloskey of Mentor, OH and Daniel L. Eacho and Rebecca A. Eacho, both of Richmond, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. McCloskey.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are made to the Erie Playhouse, 13 W. 10th St., Erie, PA 16501.
