Anthony Patrick Scrano, 86, of Clearfield died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital.

Born Nov. 21, 1926 in Madera, he was the son of Frederick and Felicia (Nardo) Scrano.  Mr. Scrano was a stone mason and bricklayer and worked for the International Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union.

He was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Clearfield. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the World War II and a member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Clearfield Sons of Italy.

On May 17, 1947 in Houtzdale, he wed the former Jean Cupp, who survives along with three daughters, Linda Law and her husband, John and Annette Fishbone and her husband, Daniel, both of Clearfield and Cynthia Himes and her husband, Laurence of York.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Richard Law, Kate Law Rhodes, Catherine Himes, Patrick Himes, Scott Fishbone and Abby Fishbone and a brother, Frank Scrano of Clearfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Clearfield, with the Rev. Msgr Henry Krebs as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olanta.

Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. Clearfield from 9 a.m. until 9:40 a.m. Monday when the procession will depart for the church.

A Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 4:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
