Ronald A. Parker II, 47, of Negley, OH is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, harassment and driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked. Ireland reduced Parker’s bail to $100,000 unsecured and rescheduled his hearing for 10 a.m. April 17 at the CCJ.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, at approximately 10:54 p.m. March 18, Lawrence Township police were dispatched to a disturbance at the Comfort Inn. Upon arrival police were met in the lobby area by the victim and his co-worker. They had been in their room when their crew leader, Parker, arrived. The co-worker told police Parker asked if they wanted to go home and then allegedly proceeded to punch and kick the victim in the face. The co-worker attempted to break up the physical altercation, before Parker fled the Comfort Inn.
The victim sustained several injuries to his face and head. He had cuts and a swollen left eye; cuts on his mouth and right eye; several scratches on his face; and a swollen and red right facial area. The victim was incoherent and couldn’t recall details other than his crew leader had physically attacked him. The victim was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for medical treatment.
While obtaining information from the victim’s co-worker, police said a woman who matched a description of Parker’s wife entered the door. When asked, she didn’t know her husband’s location. She said they had gone to Wal-Mart, where they engaged in a verbal altercation and where he began to spit in her face. She left him there.
She said while walking back to the hotel, she was offered a ride and later she and Parker went out for a few drinks. After returning to the hotel, he took her keys and left and upon returning he went to the victim’s room. She said she attempted to stop him; however, he was intoxicated and in an aggravated state, which is when the alleged assault occurred.
Police went with Parker’s wife to her room to obtain a phone number for Parker. At that point, police were notified that the suspect had returned and was in the parking lot. Police identified the male in the parking lot as Parker and determined he didn’t have a current and valid driver’s license. He was advised the victim had been transported to the hospital, and he was going to be arrested. Parker was transported to the CCJ. At the jail, Parker allegedly became disorderly with the guards; he had to be taken down and subdued.
