CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.

Shaw identified the fugitive as Mark Michael Quick, 47, of South Second Street, Clearfield. Quick was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on March 4.

On May 9, 2012, Patrolman Crystal Panebianco of the Lawrence Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Quick with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, driving on roadways laned for traffic, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, driving vehicle at safe speed, careless driving, reckless driving, driving on divided highways and driving on the right side of roadway.

An affidavit of probable cause filed by Panebianco states that on April 7, 2012, the Lawrence Township police responded to the scene of a one-vehicle accident on state Route 153/U.S. Route 322 westbound. Upon investigation it was found that a vehicle being operated by Quick had swerved into the opposite lane of travel and overturned onto its roof before coming to rest on the roadway. Upon making contact with Quick, Panebianco detected signs of impairment, and Quick was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for blood testing.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 13, 2012, at which time all charges were held for court. On Jan. 8, Quick failed to appear for plea and sentencing court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Shaw stated that an anonymous tip to the Clearfield County Crime Stoppers provided the location of Quick. On April 4, deputies from the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Quick at a business in Kylertown. Quick is currently lodged in the Clearfield County Jail. Shaw thanked the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this case.
