Mike J. “Jim” Gresock, 80, of Sykesville died Friday, March 22, 2013 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian.
Born July 6, 1932 in Helvetia, he was the son of the late Michael and Katherine (Kropinyak) Gresock. On Jan. 14, 1961, he married Mary (Sackash) Gresock.
He retired from Symmco in 1995 after 39 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville. In years past, he loved hunting, the outdoors and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Ovenshire and her husband, Perry of Falls Creek; three sons, Michael J. Gresock and James M. Gresock and his wife, Diane, all of Reynoldsville and Robert J. Gresock of Sykesville; three sisters, Helen Mehok of Erie and Margaret Slimmer and Julia Roman and her husband, Andy, all of DuBois; seven grandchildren, Melissa Carlson and her husband, Brandon, Wesley Ovenshire, Allixandra, Mitchell, Jared, Brad and Jeff Gresock; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Heath Carlson.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Meholick, Kate Osminski, and Anna Sherba and three brothers, George, John and infant, Mike Gresock.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Panchida will be held at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert A. Yetsko, T.O.R. officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.
