Faye E. Laird, 91, a resident of Decatur Village, Philipsburg, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Clearfield Hospital. Born April 7, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Leslie Vaughn and Lena Koret (Mayes) Stone.

On May 18, 1940 in Osceola Mills, she wed Walter “Bud” Laird, who died Sept. 23, 1983.

She is survived by three daughters, Becky Bumbarger (Terry) of Morrisdale, Dr. Audrey Diane Bloom (Lawrence) of Austin, TX and Linda Shaw (Dennis) of Woodland and two brothers, Eugene Stone of Winburne and Glenmire Stone of Chester Hill.

Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Scott Bumbarger, Lisa Myers, Susan Sommers, Becky Beveridge, Terry Bumbarger, Curtis Yingling, Brian Bloom, Dennis Shaw Jr. and Amy Shaw; eight great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a daughter, Betty Yingling; a grandson, George M. Yingling; a sister, Madelyn Selfridge; and four brothers, Carmen, James, Elmer and Gerald Stone.

She worked for more than 20 years at the Philipsburg State General Hospital. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg, where she was an avid volunteer.

She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross, was a member of the Centre Hill Grange and of the Red Hat Society.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating.  Burial will be in Philipsburg Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
