Obituary Notice: Leonard B. Novitsky

Leonard B. Novitsky, 95, of DuBois died Friday, March 22, 2013 at his residence. Born July 27, 1917 in Eriton, he was the son of the late John and Twila (Balukonias) Novitsky.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant.

On May 6, 1950, he married Helen (Kosiba) Novitsky.  She survives.

After 35 years of service, he retired from Triangle Auto Springs.  Prior to that, he worked at Northwestern Mining and Exchange Co., American Radiator Co. and Shew Shovel.

He was a member of the James J. Patterson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 813, the Pulaski Club, the Sandy Hose Co. #1, and the Former Lithuanian Independence Club.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Klebacha and her husband, Leo of DuBois and Mary Kay Voyer and her husband, Raymond of Old Town, ME; a brother, Albert Novitsky and a sister, Irene Yanek, both of DuBois; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Novitsky.

The DuBois Area Honor Guard will conduct a ritual service at 9:15 a.m. at the Goble-Baronick funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the cemetery.
