PennDOT’s Live Free Ride Alive Campaign Makes Stop in Clearfield

HARRISBURG – PennDOT’s Live Free Ride Alive safety campaign is hosting a table during the Central PA Outdoor & Sports Show in Clearfield, today through Sunday, promoting rider safety and education.

Show participants are encouraged to stop by the Live Free Ride Alive table at the show, located in the Expo II building at the Clearfield County Fairgounds, 5615 Park St., Clearfield, to check out the campaign’s interactive, community-based Web site, www.LiveFreeRideAlive.com, and post their personal riding stories directly to the site. Riders will also have the ability to view the campaign’s documentary, featuring a collection of stories told by Pennsylvania riders, their families and friends.

While visiting the table, riders are also encouraged to take the “Be One Less” pledge. By taking the pledge, riders are honoring motorcyclists who have been injured or killed in crashes, through their promise to be one less crash statistic.

A driving simulator will also be featured at the table. Attendees at the show are invited to try the simulator, which allows participants to see the effects of impaired and distracted driving.

PennDOT’s Live Free Ride Alive campaign is aimed at reducing the number of motorcycle crashes and fatalities on Pennsylvania roadways by challenging riders to accept personal responsibility for their own safety.

The show is open until 7 p.m. today, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Sunday.
