Aaron Tyler Parks, 20, 240 Limb Rd., Morrisdale, is charged with receiving stolen property, corruption of minors, and make repairs/sell offensive weapons. After a preliminary hearing Wednesday during Centralized Court, Magisterial District Judge Jerome Nevling ruled all charges be sent on to the court of common pleas. Parks remains in the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The charges stem from an incident in Morris Township on Feb. 16. According to the criminal complaint, police received a report that a juvenile had taken a handgun from his grandfather. The teen traded it to Park for 4.5 grams of “legal” synthetic drugs. After the teen was told to get it back, he called Parks. Parks told him “hey dude, it’s gone.” The teen’s father told Parks that if the gun was not returned, he was calling the police. Parks told him to go ahead and call the cops.
When the juvenile was questioned by police, he admitted to taking the gun. He explained he met up with Parks in a parking lot along Wallaceton Road. Parks took a photo of the gun and sent it to another individual. This person called Parks back telling him that he could give the teen 4.5 grams of the substance for the gun. The teen said he then gave the gun to Parks who left the scene with it.
