COOPER TOWNSHIP – No injuries were reported after an accident that involved a crew cab truck/auto hauler and a truck tractor at approximately 1:50 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 80 at mile marker 132.8 in Cooper Township.

According to the Clearfield-based state police, Mominov Baktherson, 22, of Orlando, FL was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his crew cab truck/auto hauler on the icy roadway. Joseph H. Tedd Jr., 54, of Toledo, OH was also traveling eastbound and lost control of his truck tractor on the icy roadway when he applied his brakes to avoid impacting that driven by Baktherson.

However, Tedd’s truck tractor impacted Baktherson’s auto hauler trailer, which overturned onto its side. Baktherson’s crew cab truck came to a rest along the south shoulder of I-80 with its trailer along both travel lanes. Tedd’s truck tractor came to a rest in the middle of I-80.

Baktherson’s crew cab truck sustained functional damage to its right side; his auto hauler trailer sustained disabling damage. On the auto hauler trailer, four vehicles sustained damage when it overturned. Tedd’s truck tractor sustained disabling front end damage, state police said.

The investigation is ongoing at this time, state police said. In addition, state police noted that a secondary accident involved a sports utility vehicle, which struck both the crew cab truck/auto hauler and the truck tractor.
