Man Jailed in New Jersey for Stealing Vehicle in Clearfield Borough

CLEARFIELD – A man who has been accused of stealing a vehicle in Clearfield is currently in custody in New Jersey, according to the Clearfield Borough police.

Brad Lee Gunn, 35, of Topeka, KS has been charged with theft by unlawful taking (motor vehicle); receiving stolen property; unauthorized use of motor vehicle; criminal mischief; and driving under suspension.

Gunn was living at the men’s shelter in Clearfield Borough at the time of the alleged incident.  At 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Gunn allegedly stole a vehicle, while it was parked in the 800 block of South Sixth Street.

At 10 p.m., Gunn was stopped by the Barnegat Township police in New Jersey for a minor traffic violation.  Upon investigating they found that the vehicle was stolen from Clearfield Borough.

Gunn was arraigned by the Ocean County Municipal Court.  His bail is set at $10,000.  He is currently incarcerated at the Ocean County Correctional Facility.
