Chance Aaron Schalk, 25, 423 S. Main St., DuBois, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance-oxycontin. He was sentenced to 90 days to one year in jail and two years consecutive probation. He was fined $200 plus costs. He must complete drug/alcohol counseling and is not to possess any narcotics without permission from his probation officer.
The charges stem from an incident in DuBois on May 2, 2011. According to the affidavit of probable cause, a confidential informant told officers they could purchase oxycontin pills from Schalk.
The informant and an undercover officer stopped near Schalk’s residence, where the informant called him, asking him to come outside. Schalk did as he was asked and entered the back seat of the vehicle.
While the informant drove around the block, Schalk handed the officer a small plastic bag with three round green pills, which were identified as oxycontin. The officer paid him $120, which he counted before placing in his pocket. Schalk told the officer that he was selling the pills for someone else, but he also had his own “stuff” if the officer needed more.
