CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough police have filed theft-related charges against a 31-year-old Clearfield woman who allegedly stole more than $9,000 from her employer.
The woman has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, receiving stolen property and forgery. Charges have been filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland.
Police said the woman worked at the Dimeling Senior Center, 4 N. Second St., where she was responsible for collecting rent monies. The woman allegedly failed to deposit rent monies in the bank that she had received from tenants Instead she allegedly kept the rent monies for personal expenses.
An audit showed that the woman stole $9,632 between May of 2012 and this February. She has made $1,800 in restitution, according to police.
