Blair C. Way, 99, of Bailey Settlement died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. He was born April 23, 1913, in Curwensville, the son of Thomas C. and Mary E. (Passmore) Way.
Mr. Way was in agriculture all of his life and had his own farm. He worked for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association of Penn State University for Clearfield County for 20 years. He had also served a tax collector for Pike Township.
He was a member of the Centre Grove United Methodist Church, where he served as a lay minister and Sunday school teacher and belonged to the United Methodist Men.
Mr. Way was a former member of the Clearfield Odd Fellows and Susquehanna Grange.
He is survived by two children, Karen Bauman of Clearfield and Donald Way and his wife, Mary of Bailey Settlement; three grandchildren, Scott B. Way and his wife, Jamie and Eric D. Way, both of Clearfield and Carrie A. Way of Gettysburg; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Way Huey of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Way was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle V. (Tenon) Way, whom he married Nov. 16, 1938 and who died July 2, 2010; and a brother, Clyde Way.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the Centre Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Randy Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Centre Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the services Wednesday at the church.
