Obituary Notice: Helen Ann Nadzom

Helen Ann Nadzom, 80, of Rolling Stone and formerly of Grassflat died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Altoona Hospital. Born Jan. 26, 1933 in Cooper Township, she was the daughter of the late Cyril C. Sr. and Catherine Rothrock Little.

Mrs. Nadzom was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Grassflat. She was the owner and operator of the former Benny’s Service Station and Restaurant, Grassflat.

She was married to Joseph G. “Benny” Nadzom on July 10, 1953 in West Virginia. He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2004.

She’s survived by four daughters, Charmaine Myers of Grassflat, Pamela Hughes of Osceola Mills and Ann Marie and Regina Nadzom, both of Rolling Stone and two sons, Gregory Nadzom of Gainesville, VA and Joseph G. Nadzom Jr. of Bellefonte.

Also surviving are eight sisters, Joan Ford, Caroline Schwark and Frances Carll, all of Florida, Catherine Cartwright and Rosiland Wick, both of Morrisdale, Donna Protulipae of Canada, Carmilla Fetter of DuBois and Susan Croyle of Allport; one brother, Cyril Little Jr. of Tyrone; and three grandchildren, Kristie Walker and Rebecca Theis, both of Virginia and Bradley Nadzom of Morrisdale.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, two sisters, Lillian Dobo and Eleanor Cowder, one brother, Joseph Michael Little and a son-in-law, James Myers Jr.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. March 23 at the Sts. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Grassflat, with the Ftr. David A. Perry Jr. as celebrant. There will not be any public visitation.

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat, is serving the family.
