CLEARFIELD – Central Pennsylvania Community Action Inc. (CPCA) has announced its selection as the recipient of a $2,000 from the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation.
Established in 2004, the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation’s purpose is to enhance the quality of life in Clearfield County through the support of services that promote health, education, social welfare, public and urban affairs, arts and culture, conservation and the environment.
The funding will be used to supplement local food pantries that are facing large shortages. CPCA has operated 10 food pantries, located in Clearfield County, for more than 30 years. More than 6,300 Clearfield County residents benefited from food pantry services in the past year.
In 2012, CPCA served more than 16,000 unduplicated individuals through its vast array of services. CPCA’s primary services includes housing services, weatherization, rental housing, case management, food services, heating and utility assistance, employment assistance and training, consumer information and referral, and transportation services.
