Jamie L. Bortz Day, 30, formerly of Clearfield died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, MD. She was born July 18, 1982 in Dubois, a daughter of Leisa Donnelly and Todd Bortz.
She was a veteran who served with the U.S. Air Force. She previously worked with special needs adults in Maryland and most recently as a stay-at-home mom with her two children.
While living in Clearfield, she was a member of the Children’s Choir at the C.A.S.T. and the Civil Air Patrol.
She is survived by her mother, Leisa Donnelly and her husband, Thomas of Edgewater, FL; her father, Todd Bortz and his wife, Sherry of Big Run; two children, Devin and Dylan Day; and her former husband, Steven Day of Maryland.
Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Barbara Minich of DuBois; two sisters and two brothers, Shawna Bortz of Big Run, Misty Bortz and Joseph Bortz, both of Clearfield and Ryan Donnelly of Edgewater, FL; three step-sisters and a step-brother, Erin Williamson, Jennifer Johnston, Lauren Donnelly and Thomas Donnelly III, all of Pittsburgh; and three nieces, Haley, Mykah and Melynda.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Minich; maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Fullerton; and paternal grandmother, Bonnie Bortz.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts honor guard.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the funeral home.
