Rita L. DuVall, 95, of Harrisburg and formerly of DuBois, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at the Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill.
Born May 1, 1917 in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Lorrainna (Myers) Boyle. She was married to Samuel J. DuVall. He preceded her in death in 2000.
She worked as an executive secretary at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad for 15 years. She was also a homemaker.
She was a lifetime member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she had been active in the choir and the Altar Rosary Society.
She is survived by her children, Karen DuVall of Long Beach, CA, Mary Rita DuVall of Harrisburg and D. Mark DuVall and his wife, Patrice of DuBois; a sister, Dorothy Fee of Portland, OR; a brother, Jim Boyle of SC; five grandchildren, Lynne Kail Rossi, Gretchen Brown Stevens, Meghan Brown Rivera, Justus and Shiloh DuVall; six great-grandchildren, Kiley Stevens, MaKayla, Rhys, and Kendyl Rivera and Isabella and Brogan Rossi.
She was preceded in death by her son, J. Samuel DuVall; her daughter, Carol Ann DuVall; her sister, Lorraine Sperl; and her brother, John Boyle.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
