Lana S. Postlethwait, 71 of Rockton died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at her home.
Born July 25, 1941 in New Village, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Stella (Streccioni) Giambattistini. On Dec. 18, 1965, she married George A. Postlethwait Sr. He survives.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in Allentown. She worked in nursing in our area for many years, including at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, Clearfield Home Health and the Clearfield-Jefferson Community Mental Health Center.
She also volunteered in West Pakistan in the Peace Corps and served two years as a staff nurse for the Peace Corps in Puerto Rico.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was very active in church affairs, and she especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, George A. Postlethwait Jr. of Toronto, Canada; Michael A. Postlethwait and his wife, Karen of Ballston Spa, NY; Teresa D. Frederick and her husband, Darren of Clarion; and Matthew T. Postlethwait and his wife, Jennifer of Westminster, MD; a sister, Lydia Reppert of Philipsburg, NJ; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A scriptural wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery.
