Joanna M. Carlo, 93, of Curwensville died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville. She was born April 28, 1919, a daughter of the late Sam and Catherine (Sedmak) Lash.
Mrs. Carlo was employed at the former Kent’s Sportswear for 20 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville.
She is survived by a daughter, Barb Baird and her husband, James of Curwensville; a grandson, Stephen Baird; two step-grandchildren, Becky Smith and Vicky Dubrow; five step-great-grandchildren; three step-great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Bauman of Curwensville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tucci Carlo on April 14, 1980 and whom she wed June 28, 1947 in Curwensville. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Olosky and three brothers, John, Joe and Sam Lash.
Mass of Christian burial will be said at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville, with Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Visitation will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville.
