Police Report: Philipsburg PSP

Minor injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 10:01 p.m. Sunday on the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township. Timothy A. Cowfer, 42, of Houtzdale was traveling eastbound near Hannah Furnace Road, and a tan-colored sports utility vehicle was traveling westbound. The SUV was passing a tractor-trailer that was also traveling westbound. Cowfer swerved rightward to avoid impact at which point his vehicle struck an embankment before overturning. He sustained minor injuries and was wearing his seatbelt. State police were assisted by the Moshannon Valley EMS.
