- An incident of theft occurred sometime Feb. 11 at a private residence on North 11th Street in Philipsburg Borough. A 33-year-old Philipsburg man reported that someone gained access to his debit/credit card via the Internet and made a purchase in the amount of $421.88. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Philipsburg-based state police at 814-342-3370.
- An incident of DUI occurred at 3:03 a.m. Saturday along West Plank Road in Port Matilda Borough. A 27-year-old Port Matilda woman was stopped for several traffic violations and was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Charges are currently pending blood test results.
- Minor injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident at 1 p.m. Friday on Centre Street in Philipsburg Borough. Michael F. Cook, 22, of Philipsburg was traveling on Alder Street and failed to stop at the intersection with Centre Street. He drove into the path of a vehicle operated by Sherri L. Sharpless, 32, of Philipsburg. Sharpless wasn’t able to avoid the Cook vehicle and struck it. After impact both vehicles traveled in the northwest direction. The Cook vehicle came to a rest in a grassy area between Centre Street and the parking lot of Weis Market. The Sharpless vehicle came to a rest in the parking lot. Cook wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to the Clearfield Hospital. Sharpless was wearing her seatbelt and not injured. Both Cook and Sharpless will be cited for the accident. Police were assisted by the Philipsburg Fire Company, Moshannon Valley EMS and towing services.
