Joseph A. Stepanausky, 73, of DuBois died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at his residence. Born April 2, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph and Pauline (Mitravich) Stepanausky.
He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1976 when he retired at the rank of major. He served in the 629th Transportation as company commander.
He retired from Ted Palumbo’s Meat Market in Reynoldsville. Prior to that, he was an electrician and surveyor.
He was a former member of the Lithuanian Independence Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He especially loved spending time on his farm.
He’s survived locally by his family, Susan Buskirk and her husband, John, Thomas Mitravich and Anthony Mitravich, all of DuBois.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
