Bertha M. Harris, 64, of the DuBois Nursing home and formerly of Hawk Run and Washington, D.C., died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born June 18, 1948 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Monroe White and Bernie Mae Brunson. She was Christian by faith.
She had worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was a graduate of the Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. and attended the South Hills Business School, Philipsburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jasper White. She was the last member of her generation.
She’s survived by a daughter, Johnsonette Ginyard of Fredericksburg, VA and three sons, Johnson White and Jermaine Howard and his wife, Sophia, all of Washington, D.C. and Jamie Ginyard of Clearfield. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will not be any public visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
